I took our two younger kids to see Ballet Philippines’ Cinderella at the CCP last Sunday. This would probably be the last ballet show we will see this year, aside from the kids’ recital featuring “Jewels” on the 15th. I’ve yet to find out the lineup for next year’s performances, but I’m excited. I’m sure the shows will be great as always. We were lucky to still be able to buy tickets to Atlantis Theatrical’s Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street on its last week’s run. Take note, we got tickets for the Thursday show. OH. MY. GOSH! Awe and amazement were plastered all over my face after watching Philippine Ballet Theatre’s Encore last night. It was truly a fantastic evening at the ballet as the company, led by the beautiful ballerina, Kim Abrogena, crowd-favorite, Ma. Regina Magbitang, and my personal favorite PBT lead, Veronica Atienza, performed heart-stopping choreography, as well as relived well-loved PBT classics. The men were not to be outdone. I first heard about Magnificat The Musical from a friend of mine. From the title itself, I knew right then that the spotlight would be on Mary, the mother of Jesus. When Atlantis Theatrical announced the launch of Atlantis Imaginarium Young Theatre (AIYT), it was definitely news that was well-received in our home. One of the things we do is expose our children to the arts – including and especially theater, and having more options on shows that cater to their age level works very well for us.
